We want to be the place for runners who are ready to think new thoughts and get to the next level. The next level in their training, racing and, most of all, in life. We don’t just want to hand you a training plan and send you on your way. We want to give you tools to see life and running in a whole different light. We want to give you tools that can be used in running and every aspect of life. We have all seen the way that running has taught us lessons that have improved our lives overall. We are passionate about bringing these lessons to our clients.
Training is about more than just running. There are four main parts. The first part is the training plan. We give you a plan specific for you. What injuries are you dealing with or have you dealt with in the past? What kind of speed work have you done in the past? What paces do you normally run? What are your goals? What kind of time do you have to dedicate to running? We take all of this information and we make a plan just for you. Also we walk through it with you and change it when necessary. You will get a weekly update to the plan with any necessary adjustments.
The second part to our plan is strength training. We believe that this is one of the most important aspects to avoiding injury as well as getting faster. We will give you a strength plan that fits your life and is specific for runners. Again it is important for us to know about injuries past and present. Another important aspect is to work on imbalances that may occur with running. All runners have different needs for strength training. Each body is different.
The third part is nutrition. Our bodies are machines and need to be fueled properly. We will give you healthy menus for dinners, ideas for breakfast and lunch, and grocery lists to help take the guesswork out of it for you. We include as much whole, fresh food as possible.
The final piece is the mental coaching. This is the part that we feel is most important. The thoughts that we think will drive every part of training– sticking to your training schedule, completing strength workouts and enjoying healthy meals. Mental coaching is learning to think new thoughts about ourselves, our lives, and our running. It is really digging into our brains and the thoughts we think and deciding if we like them or not. Some thoughts we may choose to keep and some will need to be changed. Why do we do the things we do and do we like those reasons? Why are we chasing certain goals? We examine some of the tough questions and work through some of those things that keep us stuck in life. So if you are ready to think new thoughts, not only about your running, but about every aspect of life, we are here and ready to help you!
